A Vegan Diet Lowers Cancer Risks

According to Mayo Clinic Dieticians…

The Annals of Internal Medicine recently published a series of articles claiming that there isn’t enough evidence to support the hypothesis that a plant-based diet lowers the risk of cancer. However, the nutrition community strongly protested against the journal and demanded it is taken down.

Dieticians all over the world, recommend utilizing foods that come from the ground, including plants, legumes, and fruits and vegetables. They argue that the chemical compounds that form within red meat upon heating can be cancer-causing.

Another reason why dieticians support vegan diets is that the phytochemicals found in plant-based foods protect cells from oxidative damage. A vegan diet is also known as healthy eating as it has a lower fat content and is high in fiber. It helps maintain a healthy BMI and can significantly lower Body Mass Index as well as prevent the risk of many chronic diseases.

The Link between Healthy Eating and Cancer Prevention

Researchers explored the link between cancer prevention and diet with the help of nearly 70,000 volunteers. The results showed that people who eat less meat are at less risk of obtaining cancer. In fact, those following a plant-based diet had the lowest risk.

The study also found that diet wasn’t the only factor. People suffering from obesity, higher BMI, and smokers were at a higher risk of developing cancer. However, the cure to two of these factors lies in a vegan diet.

Plant-based diets are high in fiber and low in fat, which makes them ideal for weight loss. They can substantially reduce the risk of obesity as well as lower BMI.

A study also found that young women who consume a fiber-rich diet were at lower risk of developing breast cancer later in life. Countless other supporting studies also prove a vegan diet substantially lowers the risk of cancer.
