A Vegan Diet Lowers Cancer Risks

Lowering the risk of cancer falls among the many benefits that a vegan diet is hailed for. Many people argue that such a claim is baseless as there aren’t sufficient studies attesting to it. In this article, we discuss the benefits of plant-based healthy eating and how it can reduce the risk of cancer.

Don’t Take Our Word For it; Listen to a Cancer Dietician.

According to a dietician at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Lindsey Wohlford, excess meat consumption can substantially increase the risk of esophageal and colon cancer. Consuming too much-processed meat like sausage, deli meat, and hot dogs can dramatically raise the threat of the disease. By giving up meat, you eliminate one of the main causes of cancer, which significantly reduces cancer risk.

She also claimed that the cooking method also plays an essential role in enhancing or reducing the risk of developing kidney cancer. According to Lindsey, meat cooked at really high temperatures like that over a barbecue fire or when pan-frying is also dangerous for one’s health.

Here again, giving up meat removes the threat of increasing the risk of certain types of cancers. While there aren’t many extensive researched on the topic yet, preliminary findings do support our claim.
