For making spices, you will require certain things. First and foremost, the raw materials or ingredients that you will need to make blends. For this purpose, you can buy whole spices and grind them in a spice grinder or coffee grinder. To store the seasoning, you must store it properly and fresh otherwise, it will get ruined. For storing, you would require airtight jars or clean glass containers with lids. Glass jar is more preferred because the plastic jars quickly absorb the fragrance. While transferring the finely blended material into the container, you might spill spices all over the place. To avoid it, you will need a funnel to transfer the spices into the container properly. Once you transfer the spices, you will have to give them labels, mentioning their names and the date you made it. It will help you remember and notice whether the spice is useful to you or not because these homemade spices do not last for more than six months. So the labeling can remind you of whether it is time to make a fresh one or not.

Making homemade spices is not a challenging task. Mainly, homemade spices cost you less than store-bought spices. The additional benefit is that the ingredients are natural and free of additives. You can add ingredients according to your preference. For instance, if you are not a chili lover, you can reduce the amount of chili in the homemade curry powder. Thus you can also control the intake of some aspects like sodium, etc. By preparing blends at home, you are taking a step towards eating healthy.
