In our experience, rolled oats are the way to go. Steel-cut oats are unprocessed and make less creamy milk. On the other hand, Rolled oats are just right and make nice and creamy oat milk. Quick-cooking oats are too finely processed and tend to create slimmer oat milk.
Is oat milk gluten-free?
It is controversial as some consider even gluten-free oats problematic for people with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. But considering the experience, certified gluten-free oats make oat milk gluten-free.
How to store oat milk
When the blending and straining are done, pour the oat milk into an airtight jar as the mason jars or juice jars. After that, put and store it in the fridge for nearly a week.
Without any stabilizers or emulsifiers, the milk can separate in the fridge, which is normal. It would be best if it gets a good stir before drinking.
